These Pepperpot Piper pages full of faces are a particular hoot. I look forward to making them.
You see, when I was a ludicrous child I decided for awhile that paintings without people in them were blithering and futile. Blame it on my youth.
I strove to be a portraitist, which worked out as well as you might expect, which is to say not at all. Turns out, making bank painting oil portraits in an ascendant age of the whizzy gizmo, where the drab horror of 24/7 blab was even then insinuating itself into our wristwatches and telephones, had, to cop a quote from PG Wodehouse, about as much chance as a one armed man in a dark room trying to shove a pound of melted butter into a wildcat’s ear with a red hot needle.

We live, we learn.
